Thousand Island's more than just a dressing

First we have to go through customs, and thread the motorhome through this little itty bitty opening, there was only a cat hair between the bars
thank God we are in New York, never will I go back to Toronto in a 40 foot motorhome, I promise
OK, a detour with no bridge left to go over, we can handle it
Then "our" GPS sends us to this place which is not the campground we had told it to go to, we barely manage to get ourselves out of  there, no damages though, really....we've been through Toronto, no damages
It was a beautiful place, they should have just set up a campground there and charged people
Brennan Resort, finally, on Lake Ontario
I'm excited, the whole reason for coming here....... the Thousand Islands, have wanted to show Cindy this for years
The bridge to a Thousand Islands,
they say that the Great Spirit told the Indians that if they would stop fighting
he would give them perfection,
they didn't,
so he put perfection in a bag and tossed it up into the air,
it fell out of the bag and broke into a thousand pieces and
landed in the St Lawrence

This is one of the most famous castles on one of the islands, Boldt Castle
Boldt was a penniless immigrant when he built the Waldorf Astoria,
he built this castle for his wife, spare no expense, wanted it to look like a Rhine castle,
his wife died,
he ordered work to stop on it, it was empty and incomplete for 70 years,
the state took it over and finished it in the 70's,
now tourist enjoy it and weddings take place there
There are actually over 1800 islands and not all have castles on them, some have little houses on them, some mansions, they all sit in the St Lawrence half way in Canada,
and half way in the United States
The Thousand Island's Dressing was started here, a rich person's cruise and a French Chef developed it, right here
The leaves have just started turning and it is raining to beat the band
Thought this all cedar church was impressive

Architecture was stunning everywhere, we were staying in the Wesley State Park, on one of the islands
