Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the bottom end of Lake Superior

Off we go down the eastern side of Lake Superior, we've been told it's the most beautiful side
Got excited gonna get our swimsuits on then remember it's 36 degrees!
They say the best time to see the leaves here is the last weekend in September, we hit it right

Gorgeous, really

So we are parked in the scenic outlook, this guy stops in the middle of the road, he must have thought it was the scenic outlook turnoff but it was the beginning of a passing lane, man and a woman meander out of their Rent Cruise Canada RV, started taking pictures of our rv, thumbs up and waving, never once knowing that they were parked in the middle of the highway, didn't speak any English......weird, and scary

The Autumn leaves were specacular
There are houses on the lake here also, makes a very pretty picture

We set up camp in the KOA outside town and drove the PT Cruiser into Sault St Marie, there are two of these cities, one in Canada and the other across the border in Michigan, they kept fighting over the city, big fur trading city in the old days that the US got theirs, makes it the 3rd oldest city in the U.S.

I had hoped to show you pictures of the locks, but google is being funny right now, will try late tonight, but think about it, Lake Superior is 18 feet taller than the other lakes, so they have a set of locks for navigation through the lakes, as we do in Washington, we went to the locks, didn't see a boat or ship get in one, later found out the one in Canada is for recreational boats and is closed for the 2010 season, we couldn't see the Michigan side locks, maybe they have the big boats in theirs
Off to Thousand Islands tomorrow following Lake Heron through Canada to the Islands
